Poem
All About Daddy. "Mummy where's my Daddy?" I hear my children say, "Why does'nt he come to visit us,in the night or in the day?" Does he love me Mummy, and if he does, then why Can't he come and stay with us, and hold me when I cry?" "Did you and Daddy have a fight, and then he went away?" "Or is it just a game, that Mummies and Daddies play?" "Do you think he'll come back, and you'll get married again?" "And did you really love him,or was it all in vain?" These are some of the questions,my children ask of me, It's easy for their father's,from questions like this, their free. It's only up to me,to ease their troubled minds; To to put together the pieces,to take them back to times... When life was very difficult, and times they were so tough, Because my life was such a mess, the going back then was rough. I try to tell them gently, the way things were back when... Their Mummy and their Daddy, were young and free back then. That life for them was just a game, and we played it foolishly. for it was such a challenge then,an adventure mystery. I laughed about the good times, while my life I told to them, And felt the pain with tearful eyes, remembering it again. A difficult discussion, which brought my heart such pain, As I explained that through it all, they never were the blame. I'd hold them close when it was over, and tell them all to know, That their Mummy loves them very much, and their love for them I'll show; By being with them through all their fears, and when their really scared; then they'll remember when their feeling down, that their Mummy really cared, And if and when, their feeling lost ,or lonely at any time... At least by then, they'll trust and know; That their in this heart of mine. For I can't be a Daddy, although that too I've tried, For to play a part of a Daddy, would fill my heart with pride; But that's a job for their Daddy, and one day they may find; Their Daddy may complete his role, one day, someday in time.
