Poem
People who are in the know say that the veil is very thinning on Halloween night. The waxing gibbous moon is a time when death walks on the face of the Earth. The Devil’s Hour is at 3 am exactly. This all must be true. Because at 3:15 am I was visited by the Angel of Death, first I saw her dark shadow in the hall way. Was she waiting for me to come outside because I supposed that there was nothing stopping her from walking through the walls. The Angel of Death was short and her hair was blonde and she assumed a man’s persona. She told me that her name was Adam. I got up to go to the bathroom and she walked into the room next door to me. The man in that room was an older white man and he was crying in pain. Was his pain from dying or in relief that he would finally be relieved of his suffering. This I do not know but when the Angel of Death left his room, her face and color changed from milky white to pale grey and her face was faceless. The room that he was in was like a waiting room for death because many people have died there. I was afraid but relieved that the Angel of Death did not come for me. I went back to my room in fear and watched the doors and windows for hours. Like a frightened child I hid under the covers. Hoping and praying that the Angel of Death was gone. The Angel of Death faceless face was in my mind's eye because of how she took him without a word or trace except when she left his room. The Angel of Death was nine months pregnant on the night before Halloween Eve.
