Dark Times

Sometimes dark times consumes me
And I seem to lose my way
I prayed to God with all my heart
To please do not let me go astray

Do not let my pain take control
And show me such dark despair
I went that way once upon a time
And believed no one even could care

I found it such a cruel twist of fate
There was no one there for me
Tossed like a leaf in the wind to and fro
Blind I was for I could not see

Finally reaching the bottom ground
And seeing at last it was I 
I had to care about me don’t you see
Before I could reach for the sky

So I pray to God with all my heart
Please do not let me go astray
Do not let the dark times consume me
And do not let me lose my way.
