Poem
Its been 14 years ago Its still hard to believe That so many lives were taken Still so many families to grieve On a normal day as this People trying to make a living and go to work Not knowing on this day our hearts would experience so much hurt A sad day yes it was Cruel people hurt our nation just because United we were United we stand Help us now please lend a hand People didn't get a chance To live the rest of their life It was cut short A plan to accomplish many things So many great Queens and Kings And then all of a sudden On that day Things started to feel strange Two planes went into the twin tower And I watched on the news for hours As I sat and watch the building collapse I thought it was a dream How could someone be so cruel and mean 3,000 or perhaps more In a twinkle ?? of an eye was gone But we have to stand as one to remain strong So many husbands, wife's, daughters brothers, sisters and friends On this day they're life did end As smoke clouded the air I realized that it wasn't fair Life that is How could you take something You didn't give On this day so many rescuers Tried to help Families being notified That their loved ones were in a tragedy From New York, to ,Pennsylvania, to Washington D.C. The United states was shattered We took a big lost So now I give a moment of silence For the ones who Lost their families to violence I salute you and im hear And my prayers for peace and understanding are sincere Even a decade and a half later It still seems so fresh That only thing we have are memories They are no longer here in the flesh I look at the wall With all the names And realize that things are not the same I pray for the families and friends That your heart will somehow come to a mend Right now I raise my hand ? and say That I love you all everyday Although we cant retrack or turn back the hands of time I wish I could To undo these sad memories And restore them with good We shall overcome And we have overcame Although we have experienced lost We will know what it feels to Gain Gain faith gain belief Those are the two things that will help us overcome this grief We shall not cease But let your voice be heard Not a day goes by That you are not in our thoughts And with this battle its already been fault Days will pass by and so will years But one day we will overcome our fears When I speak of fears I mean living Without being scared Finding your purpose Knowing people cared And being thankful That with our lives they were spared Keep your head up Dont Lose sight Reach the Highest mountain Climb til you cant stop Know that your a conqueror You will reach the top All of your loved ones are smiling down on you in heaven This is my tribute to you In remembrance of 9/11 Written By:Concetta Hardnett 9/11/15
