Poem
As a child I always envisioned what my life would become Who will I be, where will I live, will I be free, will I be loved, will I be touched, will I know God, will I know love, will I get married, will I have friends, will I have kids, will I live long, will I be strong I envisioned my mother precious like a pearl so beautiful, loving, and proud She taught me so much, to never give up and she taught me alot about god. She said not to worry about frivolous things or even people who aren't quite what they seem Go after your vision, live life to its fullest and alway strive to be a strong black woman My vision of dad, made me a little scared for he was the wraith in my dreams. I would awake in the night, wishing he were by my side for these words I needed to bring "My father I love you, I was mad for awhile, for I am my father's child. It was hard for me to see you leave for I felt our life was just beginning So forgive me among the clouds I hope your daughter has made you proud. I love you now, I always have I just envisioned you'd always be around!! My vision of love came when I was younger He was three years older than me my friend, and neighbor, I will always savor how special first love was for me. I still sometimes wonder would love had survived if it were not for a dear mother. We were thrust apart so very far and my heart began to shatter If I only had known how hard it would be to set love a free, I would have not envisioned just how beautiful life could really be but I always envisioned I would see you again and it happened in 2013 My vision of trust is always muffled up for people are so unworthy I trust in the lord, the Heavenly Father above For I know he will never defy me. He does not judge, He does not budge He hears my prayers He hears my cries He fulfills my life He does not lie He lifts me up when I cry He doesn't ignore me when I frown and if ever my vision fails me I know my God will still be around. So today I live life very happily A daughter, A mother, A grandmother, A cook, A poet, A friend, A spiritual person within, A strong black woman.
