Poem
Three attempts they did try Three attempts my oh my While I lay in bed asleep Upstairs they begin to creep Sister tried a bat to the head Thought for sure he was dead Woke next morning only to see He was eating breakfast with me Next attempt ended with a frown Took him swimming and tried to drown Jumped on top while he was under He was too strong, it was a blunder Third attempt was very real Was to poison his favorite meal Picked wild plants to make him sick Found some that kill real quick We sat at the table; watch him eat Then mom took us out for a treat He will be dead before we get home From his mouth should spew foam We walked in and what a sight Mom’s face frozen with fright It just made him sick and weak Mom whispered this mans a freak Three attempts I thought it was done Until she came to me and said “Son” Have to help us, you have to please She cried out, your sister agrees Without you we cannot succeed Please son help us, with our need I said “no way, I will be no part” She cried like I broke her heart If you don’t help, if you don’t help me I will do it myself and then you will see When it’s done my life will end too For I will take it and they will blame you No don’t do that, I will try I said to her as I began to cry I will kill father, this I will do I will kill him, because I love you This is my story, this is true Not made up, no lie I spew I was tricked and used by love Someday I hope the heavens above Will forgive me for my sins Until than my hell begins Until that day that I decease My soul is judged, than released I have to do right, I have to live I have to teach myself to forgive Forgive the one that hurt me so Forgive myself, this I know
