Aiming for the Stars by Rey This is a story of a boy who thought best of everything He never knew that there was no sadness or fear in people Instead he thought always in the present Once this boy grew up he became wonderer who loved life He still lived in the present He still did not grow out of his feelings He believe people still had no sadness or fear When he looked out and saw a child A child with torn clothes and blood on his knees Adults passing by, not one stopped to see what was wrong The man looked at the child, the child did not cry Did not weep nor spoke a word The man said to the child, what will you do? The child grabbed the man’s hand Pulled him to where two little younger children was Lying covered, they both were not crying The three children was set aside to fend for themselves The man asked the child once more, what will you do? The child took the man’s hand kissed it And pulled and pointed to the children’s lying on the ground The child looked at the man, then with his arms picked them up He said, I will teach you the present that I was given He saw that the children themselves had qualities that stood out He took them home bathes them, fed them, and clothe them He asked all three of them? What will you do? The children hug him and kissed him embracing him with smiles Even the actions was able to do the simplest thing All three did not say any word at all; they just stood by the man The man became old, the children became his age They ask the man what will you do, the man said, I will stay in the present Because I have three gifts that standing over me with hearts of gold Loving me unconditionally without fear nor sadness The three looked at him and without words Kissed him, embraced him, and finally with their own words We are given your gifts and we will spread the present The man had died and his energy was lifted into the heavens There stood the three children with wings that were white The man asked how come you kids are up here We have passed long ago, the present is that we and you Your action is what we received we lived a long life that did not deceive The man you are is our guardian in life, with reincarnation, or gift divine We all stand together with present in our hand a birth of new life These words came to me the man said, when I was young Aiming for the stars came to mind; three children looked at each other Why father? The universe works in mysterious ways I too was walking to find who I was and I found you guys
