Poem
Dear Becca, Rebecca, or Moose, (Whatever your heart prefers! ) It has been my deepest inclination to write you a poem, Befitting your absolute beauty, and expressing my thanks for your loyalty You are constant and true, giving, adventurous, gorgeous, Loving, intelligent, hilarious, mysterious and vagarious… You often suffer greatly in silence.. You bleed, and you clench your fists and allow it through your whole body You hold tortuous feelings inside, as I often do too, And I wish to lift you high above the waters of sorrows, So even if I sink, I may drink in understanding of what it means to live your life… The way you have been treated in the past, and maybe even now, is truly unjust, And I wish I could take away the heartache, the pain that words and thoughtless actions can inflict I am at wrong as well, for I have hurt you endlessly throughout the years… The disease festers in the fact that we forget to listen, and understand one another, And instead we must embrace each other with acceptance, kindness, and love, Knowing that in the end we will always be friends, and never anything less With that being said, I cannot express how much I love you, You are my closest friend, the most dependable, and the most devoted I have sent you many a comical letter, though not enough deep words to articulate Just how blessed I am to have you in my life, Just how thankful I am to call you my very best friend… Though I hold much inside, through my poetry all will be revealed- From happiness, life troubles, agony, sorrow love, or appreciation, It’s all here, open to many, But no such soul knows me like you do, Has seen me, full on, in all my good, bad and ugly Has seen my flaws and accepted them Has listened to my put downs of myself, and reassured me of beauties I often find unseen Your eyes have seen me cry many tears, And you have heard me chortle many (unattractive) laughs, You have heard me sob, scream, squeal, choke and everything in between, And have made me need to pee again after just peeing, dressed up as Ghostface Scream ( XD) You have seen me silenced and solemn, lost in my turbulent thoughts, And you never left my side, even when I was captured in tantalizing rage You have seen me like no other… You are more to me than words can muster…. I want to thank you with all of my heart, For staying with me all these years, For being a true friend, Through all my hopes and fears I love you always, and forevermore Each day more than before Laura E. Breidenthal
