Poem
They hunted down Arthur and bound him in ropes and dragged him in front of the stranger Poor Arthur was saddened and lost all his hopes in the face of the hate and the danger The stranger then urged them to build a great fire right there in the middle of town Their frenzy increased as the flames grew yet higher and sweet Arthur could only look down Then out of the crowd came one of their own, the blind man that Arthur would read for As he came forward, they saw he wasn't alone and was followed by more than a score All the town's children had gathered around and they followed him now to the fore They walked towards Arthur with nary a sound and surrounded the friend they adored The blind man then spoke in a calm and clear voice to the crowd that had now fallen hushed He told them they were faced with a terrible choice; it was one that couldn't be rushed He reminded them Arthur had a heart filled with love that they'd all felt his kindness and good And the book said all creatures were sent from above and should be treated as one wished they would The man dressed in black raised the book in the air and stood up in front of the crowd He silenced their voices with only a stare and spoke in a voice deep and loud 'Who is this imposter, this man who now speaks? It's clear that he's sightless, his eyes do not look He can't see the horns and the hooves on the freak and how can he claim to know what's in the book?'
