Poem
It's just a job we often say When just trying to get through our day But for some among us, there is this curse To just get by is a moral curse We must do more says a nurse To do our part for our fellow man, to give unendlessly is our plan For what we do cannot be measured In dollars, trinkets, toys or treasures. We toil on day to day to make another's pain go away For in our service, we feel committed To help wherever we are permitted To ease the constant suffering and strife And bring back joy to one patient's life. Sometimes it seems quite a challenge to keep patients and doctors pleas in balance! For often times they differ Resulting in long winded bicker. A doctor is quite well schooled He lives by trends, regs and rules! But a nurse's burden in more than that Its dealing with unending flap. Flap from patients in their pain Flap from doctor's about duties gained. Flap from visitors at the patients rooms who do not want to go home so soon. These are things she does every day It really not about the pay It matters only that she continues to give To give another a chance to live! The gift of life restored by nurses Cast in the medicines she disburses It's not just drugs that help us get well It's feeling more like ourselves And once we do, out of her life we go. How we ended up she almost never knows Many of us, I know would feel quite terse To feel better..go find a Nurse!!!!!
