Down to the two final teams it's Canada against the United States, three periods of hockey to watch which team will meet their fate? The game started at one pm my time I could not wait to watch, Winter games being held in Sochi, Russia both of the teams were real topnotch. Battling it out with each other each team taking turns in the penalty box, skating back and forth down the ice both teams put up good blocks. There was no score in the first period between either of the teams, they had a rough first period trying to fulfill their Olympic dreams. The second period finally begins I was sitting on the edge of my seat, who was going to get the first goal? The women were superb athletes. The United States gets the first goal she should pat herself on the back, definitely deserved to get that one her team was on the attack. It was still too early yet to say who was going to win, it was only the second period on my face, I held a grin. Second period over and done with it was time to take a break, the girls had deserved this one I wondered what strategy our team would take. Finally the third period starts it seemed like a long intermission, I was in a big rush to see the game tied United States scored again, I was totally stunned. The minutes had gone by quite quickly when the game was almost through, when Canada put in their first goal three minutes, twenty seven seconds left, I'm stuck to the t.v. like glue. I almost fell out of my seat and landed on the floor our Olympic dreams, we still had a fighting chance, I was going to change the channel at first then felt like doing my happy dance. I was really hoping with my heart we'd get back to back goals, but, since we have our first one the girls were fighting with their hearts and souls. The minutes ticked away quickly penalties were still being handed down, we were still in the game there was no reason to frown. Fifty-five seconds left in the period Canada was able to score again, penalty after penalty, were being given come on, just be friends. The game goes into overtime the score is tied two to two, another fifteen minutes to wait I gave credit, to where it was due. The longest fifteen minutes in my life, I had to ever wait, come on, let's go already I want to know my team's fate. I'm sitting here and watching who's going to get the next goal? Waiting forever, overtime finally begins hurry up, get it in the hole. Eleven minutes and fifty seconds, GOAL!!!!! it was such a sight to behold, team Canada wins the hockey game walking away with the Olympic GOLD!!!!!! Copyright © Cynthia Jones Feb.20/2014
