Poem
Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Were you there when they gave Him up for 30 pieces silver reward? Oh what horror, oh what shame; They even placed upon Him a very special name. King of the Jews, that's what it said, But they wanted their special King to be dead. As they lead Him up to the judgment hall, Release, release the crowd made the call. They cried out to set Barabbas free; But for the King of the Jews there was no release. Crucify Him, kill Him dead; King of the Jews, that's what it read. The persecutors interrogated and questioned His ID, 'Cause He never said a mumbling word they set Barabbas free. Pilate said I find no fault, you are killing a innocent man, Why would you kill the King of the Jews, I just don't understand. They placed on His head a crown of thorns and whipped Him all night long, The King of the Jews once sat in rule and now He was being scorned. A King to be treated as a common thief; Because the Scribes and Pharisees had unbelief. And the call was made to crucify, All they wanted was their King to die. What they didn't know is that's why He came, To take away our sins and to carry the blame. The people were not out of order, they were playing a role, For His death on the Cross all the world to behold. With the Cross on His shoulder He was led up Calvary's Hill For a mother's eyes watching this, it was not a thrill. He did not bear this Cross alone and everyone else go free; For there is a Cross for everyone and there is a Cross for me. They nailed Him to the Cross to die; The King of the Jews they did crucify. When He cried out "It is Finished," The voice of the people was diminished. Joseph came took Him down and laid Him in a brand new tomb. He was anointed with myrrh and aloes to seal up His wounds But early on Sunday morning, the first day of the week The Angels came and rolled the stone and He got up so meek. The women came to His grave, the place where He lay, But when they arrived to visit Him the stone was rolled away. Two Angels met them at the site and told them not to fear; For Jesus Christ, King of the Jews, He was no longer here. Go and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead, He will meet them in Galilee and be not afraid. They met and verified His resurrection the proof was in His hand, He died, was buried and He rose to save old sinful man. And now that He is risen, He is coming back to rule. Then take us home where He shall reign, Jesus Christ, King of the Jews. Con Resurrection of Christ
