Poem

hiding under the flannel sheets
viewing the static matinee 
thinking it is too late for me

i decide to start
i realize that i am actually good at something
i study over too many of those mini snicker bars
i study over too many bottles of that black cherry propel
i study over listening to a song called "peppermint twist" on repeat
i study over a plethora of small prayer breaks in between

walking amongst a crowd of the overcrowded
watching the detectives detect
knowing now that it is never too late

i decide to continue
i realize that i am actually better than i thought at something
i practice after three slices of bacon and mushroom pizza
i practice after two helpings of baked ziti
i practice after two downing a wonderful grilled chicken salad
i practice after another collection of small prayer breaks in between

now here i am in this cap and gown
i am in dire need of anything that will immediately coat my stomach right now
suddenly i remember where my mindstate was in the last chapter of my life
my emotions pour over internally....until my name is called....
a few hours later....somewhere in the wee hours of the morning....another prayer session happens....
my knees may be a little sore....but pain is love....and pain is life....also pain can lead to blessings....that being know....i leave the light on....
