Poem
The Way “Oh God” I cry, “This path is not so plain and sure And it is too dimly lit for my eyes to see:, and though I trudge along blindly now my, Faithful God my ears have heard Your voice speak, “Come now My child and follow Me”. “But, Lord, I shriek, “This pathway has thorns and snares reaching out to catch me away from Your side, and there is an enemy always lurking to deceive Your precious ones And wants to rob You of a part of Your bride”! Now it seems endlessly “The Way” is raging and constant battles I must fight only to find my strength is waning and at its end, yet He sends a refreshing over my thirsty soul With reinforcements that enable me to win. You say, You lead Your children in all sorts of areas Lord places we would rather not care to tread, Fearful, lonely, uncertain and dark these place my God not pleasant ones instead? Sadly as an immature child of Yours at times I had blurted out, “What kind of Master are You that You allow Your child to go through such dreadful pain? and faithless questions then would burden down my weary spirit until a new level in Him I would attain. Then beginning to see the reason why I’ve gone “The Way” And having grown in the knowledge and grace of Him, I understand that to become a winner of souls as I have desired I must be strengthened against every sin. “Oh Lord, You are on this path I know but my eyes though accustomed to the dark I cannot yet behold, still I am aware of Your nearness and I smell Your fragrance and at my destination one day I will arrive as You have foretold. Now, I to, believe “The Way” must not be always pleasant to the eye nor easy to my lazy flesh but in the end it is the only way to go, and one can always count on His help for the rough journey ahead knowing that what His Word says it will be made so.
