When you’re lucky
enough to find
Someone that sticks
in your mind
And think about it
through the day
Nightly you take
time to pray
Thanking heaven up
above
for blessing your
life with this love
Then something
inside makes you see
That both of you
mutually
Need to end it while
you can
Agreeing to be best
of friends
You get through the
next few years
Sharing your secrets
and your fears
Like best frineds
have always done
And you’re having
lots of fun
Then you see a
situation
That compromises
your position
For seeing this
arrangement through
Not knowing what you
should do
As he’s falling very
fast
And your heart feels
the blast
Of seeing him with
someone new
Wishing that it was
still you
He was holding
through the night
In his gentle arms
so tight
You try your hardest
to repress
Feelings of pain and
regret
So you hold back
your emotions
Wishing him the best
and hoping
That he’s so happy
as can be
And soon this old
memory
Will disappear and
