There is no way out of this mess I've found myself in
There are no ways to describe what's boiling deep inside 
I'm drowning in the empty words I've spoken
Bleeding in front of strangers so they can watch me die

Is there a salvation to save me from this dark fate?
Am I on the road that proves to be the last way out?
I'm drowning in these toxic words of self-hate
Donating every last drop, so they can breathe again

Strange as it may be, the darkness is my home 
The harsher truth of light may be the worst of all
Adapted as I have, I love to be alone
But I refuse to die in the basement of my fall 

Conflicted as I am the clarity breaks through 
The war has left those distant fields on which I used to bleed
Outside the iron pen that is my mind, there lies a brighter view 
The war is on, but am I strong?  It's time to plant the seed
