Poem

What God requires is a dime for every dollar
And a choice gift from your heart,
Whether it's a love offering, a praise offering,
Free-will or a special offering of support.
Prove Him for life and see if He will not
Open up the windows of Heaven
And give you a true vision of your tomorrow.
The tithe belongs to Him and so does your heart.
He has plans to do you good and not harm.
He plans to prosper you.  This is your true hope...
He has plans to give you a better future,
But you must first draw near to Him.
His promises are true, yet conditional.
The condition is your obedience to His Word.
He will draw near to you with strength.
He will never leave you nor forsake you;
Your seed will never beg for bread.
So, sew into the Kingdom of God.
He will pour out a blessing upon you
That will overflow in an abundance.
The blessing of the Lord will make you rich.
It may not be what you think, but there will be no sorrow.
It will be good and perfect.  It will be from God.
So give and it shall be given unto you
Pressed down, shaken together and running over
People shall pour it into your laps,
And you will not have room enough to contain it.
So do not steal that dime for every dollar
By using it on other things or people.
Your pockets will form holes in them.
Very little will work together for your good;
So, sew into the Kingdom of God.
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth,
For where your treasure is your heart will be.
Love God and hate all wrongdoing.
Therefore, bring your tithes and offerings 
Into the House of God with happiness, 
Not compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Do it as unto God and not to men,
And "you will not just be making a living,"
But you will begin to "live by your giving" to God,
For He will make you a blessing to be a blessing.
