Poem
I had my place Down at the bottom with all the other mongrel mutts Always there but never better Waste of space I belonged down there With all the other ones like me Dust particles swept away Wretched rodents, roads ran potent as streets I intoxicated Helpless hopefuls I suffocated, me with my repulsive stench Mothers hide your children I was dirt Not for the accodales my fearless filth had accumulated, not for the devious deeds in which I participated but for my own existence Wretched, repulsive rodent Trapped, poisoned, swept away Just like all the other intruders I took my place Down at the bottom with the half built bridges, and the likeliness of witches Likened to the worst, I took my place in front of curse Here I am Failure, intruder, wretched rodent Potent curse I come to a world vaccinated for likes of me Immune to the claws of plain and ordinary Free from the shackles that bind me They live In a world where perfection prevailed Be it in needles, pills, creams High heels, hot meals, dollar bills Name it and have it they will I had no place in such a world So like every other outscast I took ny place Down at the bottom of the gutter In some place where even the wind broke every word I uttered My deformed spirit, floating carelessly to the very outskirts of existence Far beyond me I was not me, inside of me In a world where success prevailed I failed me at being me Some part of other flesh, another soul I envied I want to be like her Someone make me better, make me like them Render me dreamer, achiever, go-getter Not just simple and plain Make me better Rid me of my lazy ways Drag me past contaminate Change me and my attitude Teach me how to contribute Stained with a speck of hope to spare I began to lead it spread Rapidly, relentlessy This new thing grew inside of me It let me see a brand new me This new thing taught me how to breathe Deeply, readily, deservingly This thing called faith With worthiness whispered 'believe' It saw me step outside of me And showed me all that I could be
