Poem
"Beings who have been closed off from the sky Can no longer treasure the ground," said Zamba the electronic fortune teller. from the air-conditioned arcade. Kids ran around him, fighting over little gold coins. "It's as if the arcade is training for the real world. I cashed in all my tickets... And all I got was the crummy plastic sheep." He had had an epiphany. He was going to lose his ability to see past and future and slip into a digital hibernation When dealing with human instinct inherent opposites should be expected Inotherwords you should act contrary to how you feel you should act. Takeforinstance managing a classroom If the students in the classroom are chaotic running around the room like crazy animals Your instinct might be to get angry and yell This will only aggravate the situation Do the opposite-> If you are in love with a girl Your instinct might be to shower her with love and attention To smother her until she can't breathe. Do the opposite-> If you are late for an appointment or work your instinct might be to run or rush In hurrying you might get in an accident or get pulled over causing you to be even later. Or dead. Do the opposite-> Zamba has awaken from his doze And he wonders why they bothered to wake him Wouldn't it be better to just let him sleep Rather than waste their futile wishes on him. A fat girl pumps in a quarter "I wish to be skinny." she mutters. A girl with disheveled hair puts in a quarter "I wish to be pretty." A kid with glasses drops in a quarter "I wish to be captain of the football." What a waste wishes of the youth Who might ask for eternal youth Were they not so wrapped up in the moment.
