... And the bride came out
With a velvet wafting above her head
At her mother’s feet she knelt ,
She looked at her face and wept :


Mother : daughter of massive rock
In frontage of the envious ;
They wake up and can not headbutt it.
Today I will leave to join my groom
Bless me that I shall multiply
With the fruits of the womb.


Your love and teachings I will not forget;
You taught me godliness and cleanliness
You lavish your love on me and call me jewel;
Today I will marry my love , my man;
Pray for me that I will not meet trouble
In my next place of abode.


Oh mother , sweet mother
How can I forget my source ?
How can I forget  you mama ?
In the year measles reigned
And thousands of my mates
Left for the place beyond,
It was you that salvaged me.


When knowledge was in sky
You disposed all for my sake;
The year vampire attacked me
Continuously I cried out from  my sleep,
It was you that fought ; running helter skelter;
Oh mama, if I had not drunk you would not,
If I had not eaten , mama you would not either
But today I must leave to build my home 
Bless me that in love I will dwell.


How do I say farewell ?
How I wish I could say no
And stay glued to your caring hands
Where all my errors count not at all
But marry I must mama , pray form me
That poverty shall not be my portion.


The hour has come
When mama and daughter must part
Though I leave now in body 
I leave behind for you my soul ;
Wherever this union will take me
I promise you mama , I will not,
No , I will not forget the child 
Of who I am.
