I'm looking wondering
where can I go 
what can I do
how can I survive
I pray but it
seems like God
Isn't listening or 
 if he is
he just hasn't 
gotten to me yet 
so for now 
I am on my own 
in this world trying to make it 
I'm starving 
desperate for chance
to shine bright 
brighter than any other star
I'm struggling
avoiding bill collectors
trying to put food on the table
jobs aren't like they used to be
it's hard to get a job
even if someone has their college degree
it's still hard to get a job
but I won't go down 
without a fight
I will rise 
just like a phoneix 
I will rise and overcome 
any obstcale in my way
I have a dream too
my dream won't be deffered
 I will make it out of opression 
and fear
I will go the distance
that's why I am hopeful
for the newday
the day when I no longer
have to live in opression
and fear
the day when I am no longer looking
and wondering
the day when I am no longer starving 
and desperate 
the day when I am no longer struggling
and avoiding bill collectors
that's the day I am 
looking for
so for now I'll be patient
and wait for God to answer
my prayers because he is 
the only one who can take me
to the promise land 
but until that day comes
I must not give up 
I have to go the distance
in order to see that day
the day that I am searching for 
in order to see the promise land
in order to do those things
I must be patient and wait on the Lord
