Poem

Another day is now passing leaving all I know behind
As to what I've been amassing I suddenly can't find
Everything that I learned and all that I was taught
With so little being discerned thus is what I wrought

Every memory that I had every person I ever met
It all seems like just a fad and all those things that I let
From way back when or even in just my yesterday
Yet in all the words that I pen there is never any such dismay

While my own way was so dimly lit and so often empty
Yet even I must admit that of this my writing is free
And where my way is broken having not even a right to say
The Lord has spoken and it is Him that I could not betray

In shedding that outer skin and seeking deep down inside
Well with Jesus dying for my sin that strips away any pride
And all that suffering He had to endure it breaks my heart in two 
As every word He does cure for it is only His Word that is true

So though I may write and color the sky blue
I have never meant to be trite to any one of you
But if you do seek to live a life filled with glory
Then just let me speak and tell you of His story
