Poem

It's hard to close my 
eyes and pretend it's all ok
That my heart healed as if 
nothing ever occurred
I faintly believe in tomorrow, 
since today is all but joy
Least the sun still warms my 
faith 
As for my dreams, they fell in 
death long ago
I once was a great writer, 
inspired by emotion and a 
swollen heart
Only my spirit lingers by, 
waiting only to fall into history
I question then my 
imperfections, my flaws and 
my fears
I wept long ago for my own 
fate, still alone I found peace 
As I came to terms with whom 
I am
Slowly I drown in reality, that 
my image too has fled from 
beauty
I only ask why, why me
An eternal spirit I am, for life 
beyond the flesh is available
Will I take part in that 
promised eternity
Or will I too become nothing
Only God knows, father of 
creation 
Everlasting love and force of 
life
Take pity upon my desolated 
heart
I write only from my fears, and 
broken dreams 
The moon stands witness to my 
tears
My walls stand witness to my 
remorse and repent 
If only I had done things 
differently, if only I wasn't 
made to sin
For the only outcome to sin is 
death
Patiently we all perish to dust
Still our souls walk to pay 
account for our deeds here on 
earth 
How many then shall be saved?
He said only the pure of heart 
shall see God
Point out then a single soul 
pure of heart
Man stains his purity with 
greed and malicious acts of 
insignificant pleasures 
Take pity my Lord upon those 
whom are about to be in your 
presence on judgement day
Take pity upon my heavy heart
Mercy father for this world is in 
the enemies hand, and I in the 
worlds hand
