I push my head out the car window
As far as I can reach
I’m on a ride
Through Beirut
Energized
Galvanized
Oblivious to the walls
Of restriction
On my soul
I lean out futhur
My hair wild and free
The wind making love to me
Caressing me
Moving over me
Touching me
The spirit of Freedom

I turn my face upwards
Close my eyes tight
The music flows over me
As I experience
Mounting exhilaration
My heart pounding
The speed of the car
Pushing me far
Into the wild raging
Of my thoughts

Moments pass
I open my eyes
Take in the passing lights
High rises
The sea
Fingers of land
Diamond encrusted
Stretching out greedily
To capture the lights
That hover over the water
I see
I feel
I experience
I drink it all in
Living other realities
My thoughts free
My dreams unleashed
My memories fighting
For precedence
Words
Conversations
Faces
Crowd my mind
I smile deliriously
This is my moment of victory
Riding the crests of the waves of my spirit
Who I was
Who I am
Who I will be

I turn my head back
Looking behind
Seeing the speeding cars
Trying to catch up with me
My black hair flowing over
Obstructing the view of all else
But the headlights
That bore into my soul
Tunnel vision
I smile
The wind overpowers me
Rushes over the nape of my neck
Pushes itself into the back of my blouse
Chilled hands that devour
Set my thoughts spinning
Sensuality reeling

I pull my head back in
Needing a reprieve
I rest my giddy head against the window
Giving in
The wind rushes to find access 
Bellowing its frenzy
Pushing open my blouse
Whipping it out
Reaching in
Touching my breasts
With chilled fingers of pleasure
Touching me
Moving me
Caressing me
Mauling me
I sigh

For a moment
I surrender
I close my eyes

I feel myself rise
The feelings inside
Demanding expression
Wanting to climax in a frenzy
Of euphoria

I push my upper body out the car window
My hands reach out
Trying to embrace
The illusive wind
To pull it in
To me
My hands dip in and out
Diving in wind waves
Bursting free
Rhythmic dance of ecstasy

People in passing cars stare
I don’t care
About age
Or decorum
Or custom
Or tradition
I’m in my element
And yet...

I know one day
I’ll cease to be
Tears run down my cheeks
The wind brushes them away
Flirtatiously whispering
“Concentrate on here, now
How I make you feel
Forget yesterday
There may not be a tomorrow
This is your moment
NOW!”

Sweet release
I rule the wind
Songs burst from my lips
Dancing
Moving
Swaying
Unbound
Untamed
Free….
Me!
