Poem
It's the sound of a broken record Going on and on Always saying the same damn thing As each moment passes by. The words lose their meaning But the world keeps spinning, spinning. Story after story Each way told so differently But story's run out of endings, They mesh into one So the story becomes a story With the means to destroy. A power that is thrived on To build walls of hatred Shatter all hope of joy, Shove pain through the bones Of every living soul. Not a difference is made Not a care in the world. The question is asked many of times When is enough enough, When can the pain turn away The story stop being told. It's the broken record, Missing the most important parts. Skipping a beat when A sorry is most needed. But the world, yes the world, the world just keeps on spinning. No one will notice The record is still playing, Over and over it goes Time after time Until someone dares to shut it off. It's the sound of a broken record Still going on and on Just saying the same damn thing. While each moment passes by The words lose meaning And the world keeps spinning away, Down into a much darker day. No child wants to go out and play When the story has run its way. Through each heart and soul Tearing them horribly apart. Ripping out their hearts. Black as day White as night Bleeding red, The soul that once was Now graciously inflamed And the tears that run down their face. Enraged. They'll one day look back and see, It was the sound of a broken record Thats was going on and on. Always saying the same damn thing. Each moment that passes by, The words lose their meaning But the world, the world will always keep spinning.
