Poem
She wanders in darkest Night Bathed in incandescent Light Her pathway is all aglow His dwelling lies in Shadow A gentle rustling he hears He is consumed by his fears Beyond, he sees dazzling Light This lone dweller of the Night As he peers betwixt the trees He knows not that she sees She undresses there with grace Her beauty lights up his face Is this moment but a dream? True to life her presence seems The Shadows slowly recede He is consumed by his need As she turns, she “sees” him there Eyes peek through her jet black hair “Come to me,” is in her smile Yet he lingers for a while Her love will not be detained Luscious lips are cherry stained Hazel eyes are all aflame He hears her call out his name Her voice is a tender stream Much sweeter than any dream Her curves fill him with delight He drinks in the wondrous sight She beckons him with her hand A goddess on earthen stand Oh, how his soul longs for Light But all he knows is the Night Her steps are a dulcet chime He is seeing the sublime Transfixed, yet he crouches low His shame she must never know Her breasts level with his face She draws his hands up to trace His poor heart begins to pound In that place, no other sound She stoops low for him to taste His hands wrap around her waist He caresses silken skin Flowing hair curtains him in She murmurs sounds, oh, so sweet As his mouth takes in each treat He cannot reign in his greed As her breasts his hunger feed She lets out contented sigh His hand moves down to her thigh Then he lowers her to him In her liquid depth to swim Darkness hovers over Light He savors her with delight She submits to his strong will Thus his empty heart to fill Her whispered moans drive him on Acquiescence he has won As he thrusts into her frame From her lips burst out his name He feels her essence pulsate For waves of light emanate Their release, the tension breaks They lie still in passion’s wake On her breast he falls asleep He does not know that she weeps When he wakes she will be gone For to Light she does belong Debbie G's Song Cont. 9/11/03 I chose the Leaving on a Jet Plane because it speaks of love not being enough to stop the longing in someone's heart to travel. Here, though LIGHT wants to draw Darkness into her world, she knows that Light and Darkness cannot coexist as they are from different worlds. Light might come back to him again, just as the singer promises to return to his love on a permanent basis ("wedding ring"), but we are left to wonder.
