What Does It All Mean?

There are many disturbing reports being heard
Expected and unexpected things have occurred
Earth is becoming more dangerous every day
Of wars, coups and poison gas, news reports say

Mass killers are more common than before
Terrorist plots are uncovered more and more
Unusual weather patterns have begun to appear
Loud, unexplained booms millions now hear

Earthquakes have increased at alarming rates
Especially at the edges of tectonic plates
Tsunamis arise and inundate the shore
Hundreds of thousands of deaths to deplore

Pestilence will appear and quickly spread
Far from the source, many folks are dead
Volcanoes erupt in place after place
Millions of people, great danger face

Drought in one area, but flood in another
Raging wildfires destroy and smother
Long-accepted standards are overthrown
Gay marriage and abortion, laws condone

Inability to provide for families millions fear
But little hope for improvement does appear
Sea levels are already beginning to rise
The homes of millions may come to demise

Such happenings and other things like these
Are causing thinking people to feel unease
Will mankind manage to work it all out?
If that is so, there is considerable doubt
