What if I said I couldn't see my way
Through the day?
Would you convince me of my worth?

What if life passes me by and
And all I have is today?
Would you remind me of what I did yesterday?

What if I no longer feel the need
To go on and on and on.....?
Would you give me a push into tomorrow?

What if I feel no compassion anymore
But only feel numb?
Would you praise me for all the help 
I have unconditionally given?

What if I am eaten up with hatred
For an unidentifiable person or thing?
Would you assuage me of my conscience?

What if my past always
Comes back to torment me?
Would you say “not to worry”?

What if I am meant for great things
But I know not what?
Would you say “don’t rush it”?

What if I said I wasn't sure what to say?
Would you remind me of my previous testimonies?

What do I do with this life drift?
I ask myself in despair

I feel blue
My mind swirls
My heart tramples a path
Through my chest

What if I know what I need to do
But am afraid of the consequences?
Would you say “life is full of risks”?

What oh what do I do?

What if there are no answers
That encompass all I want and
Need to know?
Would you admonish me for being foolish?

What if I am just meant to fade away
And no longer be remembered?
Would you remind me that history never forgets?

I ask what if but I do not think I
Want to hear the answers I already know
