Poem
“In the midst of life, we are in death.” “Teach me to live, that I may dread the grave as little as my bed.” He is gone I got an email As I lay in bed My uncle Passed away Peacefully Last night He has become dated July 7, 2013 Another death Another heartache Another longing For eternity He refused to eat Being force fed Through tubes Long hospital stay Loss of hope Loss of dreams Loss of desire To live… My father’s younger brother... The handsome one Movie star smile The funny one The loving one Gone… He fell asleep And we are left to weep How do people live Without hope? When they face the death of a loved one How do they cope? When the heart is crushed When there is only night How do they stumble on Without…without the LIGHT? How? I don’t understand…. I can’t fathom How you choose to believe That this miserable miserable life Full of heartache Illness Disease War Abuse Rape EXCRUCIATING PAIN… THIS LIFE…. How can you believe That this life is ALL there is? How can you grieve? How do you believe? There this is all there is? I don’t understand… No….I choose to believe That there is life There IS life Eternal life There is a better place A place of “no more night” No more pain No more tears No more illness No more abuse No more rejection A place Where I will see the ones Who have gone before I chose to believe In the efficacy of His death The ONE and ONLY The most beautiful ONE: J E S U S Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4: 12) Ah…when my heart is torn My mind believes When my eyes weep My lips smile… A BETTER DAY IS COMING! How can you take the news Of the death of a loved one And not hope? How can you go on? I choose to believe It’s a choice Believe!!! What have you got to lose? I know what you have to gain…. EVERYTHING! Dearest Uncle... Sleep well You have deserved your rest I bid you farewell Knowing... Believing... Death is NOT the end I will see the light of day I will live to see you in that land That land of “No more night” Eileen Manassian Ghali http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ultJ4zoNMuY&feature=share (No More Night) I Corinthians 15: 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
