Poem
Young man, cheating is like investing in self-sorrow You inflict now, the pain on yourself that you’re only going to feel in future Look at life this way and observe As we look around and find that there’s no one watching us We quickly run into the darkness and betray those who trust us Not for long, light comes in and we’re seen For we’re always found out, one way or another And we realize how these walls have been blessed with sight No walls befriend any man Never hide behind them, it’s foolish to confide behind walls It’s foolish to act and hide Yet wise are the acts of light Thick plastered as they may be, these walls can clearly see And beautifully colored as they may be, these walls will tell all your dark secrets News goes out and the world is told “The young man has cheated” He pulls in all efforts to get his remorse across She feels betrayed She feels better with time and the wheel of her life starts to roll I thought that was all in the past and said to my friends And to myself “I have only cheated one person in my life” I was disturbed by the sarcastic laugh of Time As maturity arrived with a message that said: “I came to tell you that when you were cheating on that person, you were also cheating on yourself” You couldn’t see it then because when the ‘betrayed’ sought for answers and understanding You went away as you didn’t realize that you would also become tomorrow A victim of your now actions Young man. When we cheat on people we cheat on ourselves Although we notice on the spot that we have deceived and hurt these people, we only notice sometime in future that we have also done the same acts to ourselves It is like investing in self-sorrow We inflict now, the pain on ourselves that we’re only going to feel in future By the time we notice this; often these people we have hurt have healed from the pain And we’re left with a big hole within ourselves when their success rejects us and their failures hug and kiss us This is how the see of guilt is conceived and the child of regret is born Believe this is one child you wouldn’t want grow Do not plant the seed of deceive on people; it will grow back on you one day when you’re older
