Poem
(continues in part 2) Translation in english My mind still dreaming is wandering In the unknown exploring like Ulixes When all of a sudden a hole is open. A stooped man with black hood Who in dark times lived for the church Turns to me so sad and proud. “To avoid that anybody could hear my voice A fierce soldier of Vatican With a nail my tongue pierced. You know my name: Giordano Bruno Innocent heretic I was convicted In court I defended in vain”. ”Bruno”, I told him, “your memory is intact Immortal sign of free thought that does not yield to violence or blackmail” A light envelops him entire Creating the fade him around And I see him in the sky lightly disappear. And then I think again that when science is done The religious faith is offended When a belief is demonstrated as false. And on religion always weighs A huge burden if the story Speaks of blood of a offended life. But yet it seems to have no memory Who pontificates other and not himself Arrogance showing and empty haughtiness. Still confused now I think again Hoping that the image is coming back And of seeing again him is to me allowed. The episode is finished and for many days I don’t meet anybody in my dreams. And it looks like I am escaping any memory at all. Such is the horror that assails my mind For what I saw and relived before That it was reduced to the most oppressive silence. Then slowly rises toward the top Again creating images and illusions Without allowing fear to oppress” (continues in part 2)
