Poem
An Old Man - A Wise Man A 92 year old man - very well dressed. always took very good care of his appearence, was moving to a Nursing Home. His wife of 70 years had recently passed away. He was forced to leave his home. After sitting for many hours in the lobby - a lady came and told him, that his room was ready. He smiled at her, got up and started walking, using his cane. The lady while walking to the elevators - tried to describe his room, Including a big paper on the window that served as a curtain. I hope you like it. He told her - that is not important. The happiness - I choose myself ahead of time. If I like the room or not has nothing to do with the furniture, or the decore. It has already been decided in my mind, that I am going to like it. Every morning I make a dession when I get up. I can spend the day in bed complaining about the parts in my body that don't function right or get up and give thanks to God for the ones that do work right. Everyday is a gift of God. I can open my eyes and focous on this new day and all the good memories that I have constructed through out my life. Old age is like a bank account. At the end you withdraw enerything that you have deposit through out your life time. He then told the lady - my advice to you is - to deposit all your happiness that you have in your bank account of good memories. Thank you for your part in filling my account with happy memories - which I still have to be adding some more.... 04/07/2013 written by Lucilla M. Carrillo Note: moral of the story is not because you are old - you have to give up or stop living.
