Poem

She sat quietly across from the brightly lit room 
I paused briefly to engulf the sweet scent of her perfume
Her smile sent emotions running through my body 
The skin that seemed to allure all my attentions was light- brown mahogany
Words were engaged in my mouth like lost souls in hell 
An angelic being she was, and earth is where she fell
Maybe to deliver me from the loneliness that overwhelms my days and nights
She fills me with joy and lifts my soul into greater heights
Now as my head flies above the clouds I refuse to descend 
Happiness is at a maximum capacity when she’s near and I can’t transcend
Her love is like a tropical island immune to any storms
If I fly any higher I’d be floating with celestial life forms 
I can’t help but admire the golden-brown strands that hang down her back
When I’m not in her presence pleasure I seem to lack
I’m lost in my thoughts when I see her walk through an open door
I’m satisfied with one glance, but yet I yearn for more 
My eyes are hypnotized to the gyrations of her hips 
My mouth waters at the sight of her apple red lips
Tensions are only increased when she glides her fingers through her silk-rich 
hair 
I’d give any worldly possession for an infinite stare 
Or maybe just a touch of her velvety, light- brown flesh 
Everything around me is nonexistent, only memories of her can I refresh 
She is to me what nothing in my life has ever been
She is someone who turns gloomy facial expressions to a rejoiceful grin
Without her, my life is irrelevant, I’d rather put my body to eternal rest 
She is the one that touches that body of flesh that lies inside my chest 
This could all just be infatuation, but love is my theory 
Whatever the case may be I’ll admire until my eyes grow weary
