Poem
Through the midst of the turmoil, through the suffering and the pain, through the emptiness and heartache, I saw your flickering flame. I struggled for a lifetime with not a hope in sight. I fought for my own survival with all my strength and might. At times I thought it futile to linger here on earth, when life had been so meaningless from the moment of my birth. The only thing that kept me sane was my family, the only happiness in my life, a gift from God to me. When things became their darkest and I could not take it anymore, I cried out to the Lord in Heaven, "What is all this suffering for?" A peaceful silence filled my room; a bright light filled the dark, and in my weary saddened heart ignited a little spark. In the midst of the glowing light a majestic image grew near, and from this presence a voice so beautiful, I fell to my knees in tears. "Don't fret my sweet child for you are more precious than you know. You are my wandering little light, but you have a learned and wise soul. Your flame flickers without direction, with me you must become one. Your life's mission is to spread the word about my precious son. Your suffering has not been in vain, instead a learning tool, to make you wise when battling the Devil, for he is not a fool. Pick up your sword and shield, do not tarry on your way, March forth my blessed warrior and to the Devil do not sway. For when the battle is over and our victory we have won, I have a place in heaven. Come and sit beside me with my son. The spark that had ignited in my heart turned into a burning flame. I thanked the blessed Divine for finally my purpose I could claim and spend eternity united with my dear saviors flame by Kim Paquin
