Poem

Jersey and Teddy had become very sick
Together they had drunk some very spoilt milk
Both went to the doctor, the pain was so intense
Doc Duck quacked and peered at them through a very thick lens
Oval in shape and perched on his nose
Peeping out from his pyjama bottoms were flat webbed toes
When he spoke, his quavering voice sounded grave
“Teddy, I recall having told you before not to have what you save
From a meal that you ate ages ago;
You always suffer so and the hair on your rump doesn’t ever grow!”
His tone was grim when he spoke again
“I’m surprised at you who dwell in the glen
From calf to cow, you’ve grown
But good sense, I must say, you’ve not shown.”
Jersey nodded and moaned in pain
She had only herself to blame
Muttering and quavering, Doc prodded her with a cane
And whoosh! The pent up gas came out her end
Teddy, standing behind her suffocated and keeled over
Moaning, “How gross,” scampered on all fours for cover
Jumping through an open window and into fresh air
The devastated Doc flapped his wings and collapsed on his chair
Teddy, landing on his midriff,  too found sonorous relief
And the doctor, staggering to the window, again came to grief
Outside the window and inside, the breathability factor had plunged to zero
From that day on, Doc put on a mask like Zorro – clearly he was no hero
