I’ve been blue gray yellow and I’ve seen red
I was dying slowly and I wished I were dead
Pain and anguish was my dear friend
But I still hung in so I could mend

I’ve been down and I’ve been out
Without you made my life stall
I’ve lost been beaten or it was a terrible rout
But with your love I knew Id never fall
But I never ever had a doubt
That I wouldn’t make it through it all
I made it through it all

I’ve sobbed I’ve wailed and simply cried
In my weeps and mourning I wished I had died
When I was at my lowest I sometimes did sway
But I rose above it to live another day

I’ve been down and I’ve been out
