Poem
Mummy went to heaven cause they needed her up there Mummy went to heaven, God tell her that we care She was such a special Mummy, and we loved her ever so Mummy went to heaven, I bet the angels know As Daddy, Samantha and I together now we cry Daddy asks why, with no words can I reply To fill his empty heart, they have never been apart I just told him to be brave; he got lots of memories to save And not forgetting me, from their love I came to be Now Daddy takes care of us, so we mustn’t make a fuss He gives us all he can; he’s a special kind of man And I’m glad he’s got his work, from it he never shirked And I know it comforts him and it fills the interim Till he’s with her once again, I’ll try and ease the pain And Samantha and I together will wipe away his tears We’ll remind him of the fun and all the happy years We’ll think of our Mummy and both never misbehave And all remember all the laughter and the love she gave I promise to take care of Sammy and we’ll never disagree And I’ll love her as I should and promise to be good I’ll give her lots of steak, of the best she can partake And when she gets those nasty horrid fleas I’ll wash her and wash her and spray all of our settees And when she meows and for our Mummy cries I’ll hold in my lap and sing her lullabies I won’t mention China or even Singapore Pity she’s so yuckie and such a great big bore Poor little Samantha now she‘s only got Dad and me So I won’t even mention that she’s not a pedigree Yep, I’ll try and love Samantha the best I very can I promise I will not stick her in the frying pan I’ll talk so soft and gently and never ever tease Mum would be so amazed and ever so pleased This Sunday’s Daddy’s Birthday, what can I really say Suppose that just I love him and I’ll not be far away After all we got each other and memories of shiny days I love you Poppa, so remember to continue to be brave You made our Mum so happy with the splendid love you gave.
