Poem
Philadelpia where a man once lived where a man once triumphed over unjust laws a city where a lawyer died for this truly was a compassionate lawyer a man of discipline a man who would win a counselor who would claim victory over the injustices he recognized and vowed to overcome those who would carry on with disavowed cruelty a lawyer who would rise above a man of pure and unpretentious love as others loved the lawyer and his loyalty a lover of another man And his lover was ever the law And a love for the people who required his knowledge to fight the threat of a law too often blind A lawyer who can be described in a hundred positive ways but most of all he was kind a man who spoke words that brought justice to those who could not speak for themselves armed as a weapon was the knowledge he possessed a man who spoke words his clients blessed a lawyer now at rest For his was an indiscriminant disease a plague for which, at that time, mankind had no viable cure it attacked a man who spoke words with passion made perfectly pure then the last bomb of his battle exploded as his life and breath were eroded until this giant of a lawyer urged both slowly and steady said he "Miguel, my lover, I am ready” (c) 2011 Phreepoetree ~free cee!~ The scene where Tom Hanks describes an opera to Denzel Washington is simply and heavenly beautiful
