Poem
Spindle spindle spin for me bring yesterday back and my love from the sea Stars shining, stars bright bring me back her lovely sight dried from seafoam, alive and well bring her back from her watery hell O' winds, howling winds! Spare me my loveless night Speed her soul through fire and cloud fill her eyes with life, love, and light Vain, pitiful, woeful spirits nigh! tuck back your jealous greed forget her love for you, toss it aside give back to me my one and only need Turbulent waters, sleep and do part sleep an endless dream give back my love for her unbeating heart before the jealous moon sheds its hateful gleam I beseech thee, o' callous gods cast down your fires and your lightning rods beat the shore with rageful fist but in the end give to me my dying wish To see her again, o' wondrous sight a seraphim so pale, so blissful so sweet I pray ye gods, bring her on wings swift, wings fleet let us have our love for one last night I would give my heart, my wretched soul all to see her again, this solitary goal an angel in Heaven now, a woman no more alone I'm left to speak of her in poem and lore Not a devil in heaven nor a ghost in hell could ever turn her free to look into her eyes is madness divine and alone I'm left by the sea My tears turn dry and turn to salt my heart has died, my future rought how wronged was I, played for the fool I was only a pawn, a piece, a tool Her name is His now, belonging to God while she turns away and he grins and nods away into the heavens out of sight and mind only a vagary of memory left for me behind Wings fallen, halo shattered her life crudely splattered my life, our life, torn asunder she is dead, was it ever any wonder O' gods of merciful death why not me instead cold without a breath why not me i plea, why not me! why not me alone at the bottom of the sea! Hear me now, o' begotten fiends this is not how it should end me alone and forgotten alone without my lifelong friend O' how my rage will bubble and boil the seas will burn and torch this soil my wrath will topple even the sky Heaven will burn and angels cry My love will come back to me then when love becomes infernal sin when this Man raises fist he'll take back his love he has sorely missed And o' will the seas bleed red with love so scorned and love still dead No devil nor god could stay this hand until this sea leaves this shoreline sand
