Poem
My intimate stranger Why are we so far away from each others thoughts? And we are not so thoughtful to each others needs And we live under the same roof on the same bed But our minds are miles apart at dead end Withdrawn to each others shell Why are we physically present to each others demand? But emotionally absent to fulfill each others needs Why are we so indifference towards each other without regard? And we spit evil and contentious feelings in disregard When did we got to this point of madness How are we so blind to our state of foolishness? Why do we choose this attitude of thoughtlessness? Against each other...this is our selfishness Why all this bitterness and rudeness See how we spit word of unkindness To each other lately….but Before we said “Yes I do” it was not like these? Since we said, “Yes, I do”; where is our truthfulness Our openness that bond us to make us say “Yes I do” It’s trashed under the carpet of marital pressure Where is our fairness and faithfulness? Where is our openness and joyfulness? Where is our frankness We have denied each others closeness and nearness With our attitudes and unkind words Forgetting to adore each others physical presence and beauty But remembering to abuse each others mistakes at will How did we opted for faithlessness What has deprived us of our goodness and kindness? We need help so we can be relieved from this madness see as we keep bitterness where love and peace dwells As we carry on with malice and grudges against each other Who will deliver us from this madness and sulkiness? I wish we were friends as we were before we got married As we were lost in each others arm thinking of nothing else As our heart pounds day and night towards each other I wish we can come back to that state of intimacy So that we could share our thoughts without conspiracy I wish we can be passionate to each other As we were the talk of the town I wish we can be open in our conversation again As we were once vulnerable and generous to one another As we were so close to each other As we confide in one another As we forgive each others mistakes As we share each others feelings As we give each other the space to express is emotion As we respect one another This convinced us, to walk to the priest To be joined as ‘one body and one soul’ and say, “Yes; I do”. all these i desire to explore in you My intimate stranger
