Drummond’s Bar began construction
An expansion of their bar
To increase their growing business
But they hadn’t got too far
When the local Baptist Church
Tried to bar them from their goal
With petitions and with prayers
And I guess to save their soul
Well the bar build kept on going -  but
When the grand opening came around
Lightening struck the building
And burnt it to the ground
The church bragged smug and happy
About the power of their prayers
Till the bar owner sued the old church
Said the fault was really theirs
He said the congregation 
By direct or indirect means
Was ultimately responsible
By their prayers of such extremes
The judge who read the complaint
Said I’m not sure how I’ll rule
But anyway you look at it
It’s a philosophical whirlpool
It seems we have a bar owner
Who believes in prayers a lot
And an entire church congregation
That apparently does not

Well I checked this out with Snoops
And they said this Texas quarrel
Was a tale of exaggeration
Of its underlying moral
Do you set aside your faith
When faith seems inconvenient
Or stand up for your beliefs
And really, really mean it
