Poem

A rifle is not the weapon of choice this year
I am not here to try to shoot a deer
My eyes, my ears, my camera are the tools I take
My desire is to discover incredible shots to make

Sunrise's yellows, blues, and pinks burst into view
Spiderwebs, intricately woven, outlined by dew
Hoar frost's icy fingers grasping clumps of weeds
Sumac is naked except for russet heads of seeds 

Tall pines in the wind, glistening in the sun
Chipmunk crossing the road fast as he could run
Mushrooms with bright orange domes by the road
Autumn in all her glory, her fiery finery I do behold

Berries-purple, red and black in the forest bright
Quartz crystals shimmering pinks and white
I watch a hawk soar easily on the updrafting wind 
The most amazing sight of all comes at day's end

To camp we go as the sun sinks slowly in the west
My camera catches scenes of the view I like best
Sunset changes her attire as we make our way
Crimson blazes to twilight hazes ends this day
