Behind the door he, in death, lay- - -

Hey, who has seen my Brad today?
Come on man, you and I are tight.
It’s just, well, I like him in sight.


His glassy eyes, no warmth bestowed- - -

He and Jones hauled a double load.
For that same no insurance dude?
Hey, you don’t have to come unglued. 


A face once taut, now sagging down- - -

Get that phone will you Tot, I’m wound.
It’s for you Gin, sounds like the feds.
Dang Tot, you need to get off meds.


I’m sorry he has been through a lot- - -

Oh my God why has Brad been shot?
The gangs Ginnie, sell protection.
They practice raids to perfection. 


He heard her sob from far away- - -

Perhaps it all renews some day.
She knew this kind of love can’t die.
It just wears thin the more you cry.
