Poem
I always loved to be alone To be away from the world and from all the unknown To live my life with a daily routine To never see and to never be seen I always loved to walk by myself With silence around and no one else To bother me as I collect my thoughts No one to tell me what I forgot I always loved to hear the engine's sounds As I sat in the driver's seat with no one around To tell me that I was going too fast Or that they were scared that I was going to crash I always loved getting coffee in a small shop Where I could read my paper from bottom to top With no one asking for the Living or Lifestyle section Or to hear another opinion about the upcoming election I always loved all of these things But then I met you with your crazy mood swings With your insane views about the world I hated when you acted like a little girl I hated the fact that you always seemed to talk I couldn't read the paper now without having to stop Every fifteen minutes to hear your pointless chatter When I thought I was composed, my thoughts would scatter I hated not being able to hear the gears shift As the car picked up speed and then began to drift You would turn on the radio and begin to sing along As I thought I’d scream because I despised that song I hated not being able to walk in the park Without you by my side while it was chilly and dark And you’d borrow my coat and have me hold you tight While I would freeze in the cold of that winter night I hated the fact that you were never near When I needed you most and filled with fear But then you’d come to the rescue and dry my tears And suddenly my vision would become so clear I hated it all, even from the first day How you had broken my loneliness in a beautiful way I now hate being alone because it seems I always have loved you, the girl of my dreams
