Poem

sometimes i still sit alone by the lake
looking at the moon, the stars, the water
looking at how perfectly they seem to blend together
all the colors seeming to turn into one
its beautiful
the same dark shade of blue as your eyes
its been three years since you left me
and each year it gets harder.
i know that it happened for a reason
but it still hurts 
just like it did the first year
i know that youre somewhere 
watching over me 
and i hope ive made you proud
i think about you each day
but this day gets harder every year
thats why i still sit alone by the lake
talking to you
hoping to hear your voice again
even though i know that wont happen
it would be nice though
to see you one last time
to sit here with you
at the same place where we met
tears stream down my eyes
"i miss you so much it hurts"
and then there is nothing
im alone here just like i have been 
for the past three years
and im mad
because you left me so suddenly 
sad because you were my best friend
time to say goodbye
i sigh and pick myself up off the cold ground,
take one last look at the water, the moon, the stars
and smile, all negative emotions leaving me
because thats when i realize 
you made this beautiful for me.
