This is the story Of a real life fairy tale Everything so perfect Everything so right But like the saying goes All good things must end This is the story Of a fairy tale reversed Neither of them looking But their paths crossed What started off as friends Quickly became deeper They started to share Started to thaw out The ice around their hearts Put there by others They showed each other Parts no one has seen Both saw something amazing Deep inside each other Something broken Something beautiful They opened up To let light shine in They laughed together They felt real happiness They healed together Things dearest to them They shared together Both selfless and giving Both caring and loving Both scared and trusting But all good things Must come to an end Because things like this Are too good to be true And the fairy tale story Started to unravel The fire started to die The magic starting to fade She just couldn’t escape What others had done Couldn’t undo the hurt Couldn’t peel back the layers That kept the real her From being able to live life Couldn’t escape the thought That he would do the same She started to struggle She started to hurt She couldn’t get past it So she started hurting him The one she searched for All these years She started hurting him To deal with her own pain She tried to convince him He deserved so much more That this wasn’t fair to him That she wasn’t worthy Of this kindness and love He started to pull back She saw it in his eyes The breaking point is near After years of searching For this fairy tale story Finding, living, loving it She sabotaged it all Convinced he would hurt her Like all the others did Afraid of failing him Afraid of not being good enough She hurt him a little more Each time they fought Thinking she was incapable Of being loved like this She cursed those who made her Who left her as damaged goods Now the best thing she ever had She was pushing away When the clock strikes 12 He will be leaving her Taking away the magic All the memories they shared The life she dreamed of Turning back into reality She had it all in her hands And she let it slip and fall A modern day Cinderella Who made it to the castle With her fairytale prince For the happily ever after For a life she always wanted Only to lose it all Back in rags and soot Dreaming of what she had and lost
