I Was Okay Before We Met

I was okay before we met,
Now, the essence of You, I can’t forget,

Back then, I thought myself free,
That it was the way to be,

But it was self-delusion,
Meeting you shattered that illusion!

It simply isn’t fair, 
Alabaster skin, and auburn hair!

When I saw You standing there,
I could do nothing, but to stare!

Our first date, in the morning,
You stole my Heart, without warning!

I believed it was just another meeting,
Polite conversation, toothy greeting.

Sitting across the table,
I soon found that you were able,

Things you said, tore apart my Brain,
With an ease, most insane!

You can take it to the bank,
I’d never met anyone else as frank!

You were so honest, and so open,
I found myself thinking of elopin’!

In minutes, my mind was seething,
I don’t know how I kept breathing!

I think that I still control my fingers,
The only power that I have that lingers!

I am no longer under my control,
You rule my Body, Whole!

I don’t think that I would complain,
Even if I could still work my Brain!

Across your arms, there should be a message, clear,
“Abandon all Hope, You that enters here!”

“This lady will give you the Chance, 
To experience Searing Romance!”

As I near You, and smell You, all perfumed,
I know that I am surely Doomed!
 
I wouldn’t have it any other way,
Self-control is overrated, anyway!
