Poem
I'd rather not say, and I'd rather let go, all the memories I've witnessed, and lived through, I know, But although I'd love to remove them with ease, I can't help think I'd miss my memories, A thought process I was given at birth, It's allowed me to see what the worlds really worth, We aren't just a few dots on a map. Were each our own, and somehow we thrive as shown, We created a government, based on a system, checks and balances, and god be with them, our founding fathers, had the right vision, they just didn't want to end up like Lincoln, Shot for his beliefs, of a land for all people, where black and white were created equal, slavery not mentioned once in the constitution, a bill of rights, not directed to save a woman, and yet we look at ourselves and say we dont judge, our judicial system had to be rewritten, after a veto decision became a federal incryption, judicial review was set in place and now the states government was never gunna be the same, yet when was it ever. the roles kept changing, people were replacing, and presidents were being assassinated, our here and now is today and tomorrow, obamas campaign was for a change and decision, yet has anything become better? A country in debt, higher than its ever been, foreclosure, and unemployment all the same, were separated, without hope, and unsure of whats to come, so why cant we link arms once and for all? were stubborn, were biased, were racist, and in denial that we have something in common were citizens to a nation, bound by religion, bound by government, and bound by family, but were still not the same, and no matter how much we want to be, we wont be, until we can realize, who we need to be, and thats a nation willing to equally treat all of its members and equally Judge no one, but nothings perfect, and we face tradgic times, but its time someone took a stand and actually compromise.
