Poem

To stand and fight
or plan to flight
Taken back to a time with families and friends
How we talked and talked and their feelings started spilling in
About the problems they had and the crap they've been in
About how abusive and intrusive their boyfriends have been
Causing my mind to blow right off of its bin
Letting such rage pulsate through my veins
Becoming a river overflowing with hatred and pain
With choices to make
And pathways to take
To decide without hate
So my mind can fly straight
To solve this problem they're in
Help keep them from suffering
And just release them from their pain
Prevent them from going insane
So I think and I thunk ,I thought through and through
A lot of some stuff, I was setting to do
Until finally I knew
Just what I should do.
Life is life
And it's what we go through
So I'm just gonna sit back
Just watch and not do
Not running away
But waiting it through
To fight or to flight
I'ma cut right down through the middle
Be neutral for a little
until its time to play the fiddle
