Poem
I ask myself to hold on To carry on like nothing's wrong But there is no more time for lies The weak one is not the one who cries They're strong for letting the feelings show And for trying to let all of their pain go So why can't I be that strong? Why can't I let go of everything that is wrong? What's so messed up in my head That when I try to sleep I lie awake in bed? I find myself not being able to go to sleep And when I try to find out why, all I do is weep Because the memories, they haunt me But the way they torment, no one will ever see It's not just that I can't let it show, but I won't And if you want to ask me what's wrong, please, just don't I don't need the questions, at least not now All I need is for you to show me that you care somehow Hold me close, don't ever let go I love you more, than you ever will know I know you want the answers that someday you'll receive But as for right now, all I need is to believe That someone truly cares, and will always be there You know just what to do, but it really isn't fair I want you to be able to hold me in my times of need I really don't care anymore if I am full of greed I need you here tonight So please, don't put up a fight It isn't really my fault, I can't control what I feel And honestly, I'm so glad that you had me make that deal Because there are so many times, so many nights, that I want it to end And I don't care what people think, I'm thankful that I see you as more than a friend If it weren't for this, would I be able to listen? be able to refrain? Would I, or could I, ever deal with all of this pain? If it weren't for you, I would certainly die But because of you, the most I do is cry It's not because of you, that from these eyes tears are being shed It's because of every tragedy, from every single lie that I've been fed Mostly it is for the people that I have lost And many times have I paid the cost But when you're around, my heart no longer has to pay Because of you, I actually want to make it through another day So thank you, for keeping me away from my death Thank you, so much, for giving me my reason to take another breath You're the reason I don't let go The reason that my tears may finally slow And the reason that there will no longer be any scars to show
